Sports injuries are a common occurrence among student athletes. Most sports related injuries occur due to excessive load applied to unprepared tissues. In fact, they account for about 20% of all injuries treated in emergency rooms. These injuries can range from minor sprains and strains to more serious fractures and dislocations.
While many patients seek chiropractic care after an injury, it is actually considered preventative care. I work with all athletic populations to pinpoint movement dysfunction patterns to prevent risk of future injury. As a former dancer, I have a keen eye specifically for improper dance technique which often results in injury. Using peer-reviewed, research based techniques, I also help athletes return to performance post injury.
Expecting Moms and Pediatric Care
Chiropractic care is safe an effective for both expecting mom and their baby's after birth. With the development of over 100 chiropractic care techniques, a gentle approach is used to treat these populations. The Webster Technique is a chiropractic technique specifically designed for pregnant women. It focuses on optimizing the pelvis and sacrum to create a more favorable environment for the baby to develop and ultimately move into an optimal position for labor and delivery.
Geriatric chiropractic care focuses on the well-being of older adults, addressing age-related musculoskeletal issues and promoting overall health. I am well-versed in the unique needs and considerations of older patients, employing gentler techniques coupled with exercise to help decrease arthritic pain, movement dysfunction, and increase autonomy in this population.
